Snapki — Privacy Policy

Snapki ("we", "our", "the app") is a free AI-powered flashcard application developed by Brightcode Studio. We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what data the app handles, how it is used, and your rights as a user.

1. Data stored on your device

All flashcard sets, folders, learning progress, and app preferences are stored locally on your device. We do not have access to this data. It is never uploaded to our servers. If you uninstall the app, this data is permanently deleted.

2. Data sent to third-party services

When you use the following features, data is sent to external services for processing:

AI Flashcard Generation — When you generate flashcards using AI (via text, photo, file, or voice), the content you provide is sent to an external AI API for processing. This is necessary to generate flashcard content based on your input.

OCR / Photo scanning — When you take a photo or upload an image to create flashcards, the image may be sent to an external AI service for text recognition.

We do not store the data you send or the responses received. The data is transmitted solely for the purpose of generating flashcards and is not used for any other purpose. Please refer to the AI service provider's own privacy policy for details on how they handle data.

3. Data we do NOT collect

Snapki does not collect, store, or transmit any of the following:

Personal information (name, email address, phone number)
Account or login credentials
Location data
Device identifiers or advertising IDs
Usage analytics or crash reports
Voice recordings (processed locally or discarded after transcription)

4. Permissions

The app may request the following device permissions:

Camera — to take photos of notes or textbooks for flashcard creation
Microphone — to dictate content for flashcard creation
Storage / Media — to import images from your gallery

These permissions are used solely for the features described above and are never used to collect personal data.

5. Children's privacy

Snapki is suitable for users aged 13 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Since the app does not collect personal data from any user, no special data handling for children is required beyond this policy.

6. Third-party services

The app does not include any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. The only external communication occurs through the AI features described in section 2.

7. Data security

Since all user data is stored locally on your device, security depends on your device's own security measures (screen lock, encryption). All external communications use encrypted HTTPS connections.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify users through the app or on this page. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent update.
